About the Opportunity
This role will work closely with our clients, business unit leader, project managers and senior engineers to ensure delivery of profitable projects to client’s expectations. You will be responsible for undertaking design of transportation for public and private sector and internal clients. Assisting project staff and the wider project team with the day to day running of projects, responding to technical issues and queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring engineering activities are performed in accordance with the project requirements and Calibre’s technical standards.
- Understanding tasks, deliverables and timescales with allocated resources.
- Prepare preliminary and detailed designs, specifications and documentation for all projects.
- Identify training gaps and facilitate training courses where applicable.
- Actively promote and continuously communicate on the best engineering practices both in the project, the broader business and the marketplace.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in engineering
- 4-5 years transportation experience ideally from a consulting background with knowledge and experience in Local Authority procedures and requirements
- Demonstrable experience in undertaking engineering duties and preparation of contract documentation in roading and urban development fields, and general civil management of small to medium sized projects
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Have design experience in either or all: transportation / traffic design, cost estimation, computer design packages, working as part of a team and construction management
