A large and successful construction company recognised for its ability to achieve high standards in technically challenging areas seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Contracts Manager to lead and be part of a focused high performing team of Quantity Surveyors and construction professionals based in Auckland.
This role is accountable for the successful leadership and operation of the QS function, ensuring that the overall administration of major projects/contracts are successful and highly profitable and that individual procedures and methods are correct.
Additionally, the person will work closely with the Estimating, Project Engineering and Management, Finance and Operations Divisions, ensuring a harmonious and seamless working team.
Key tasks include reviewing all project and potential cost reports and incorporating these into operations reports, assisting and signing off final claims, contractor and supplier agreements, future and project cash flows and forecasts and providing commercial input to the senior management group.
Applicants must have leadership experience and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A 'can do' attitude is paramount. Appropriate tertiary qualifications and registration are required along with further studies. This is a satisfying and demanding role requiring someone with leadership experience, preferably in New Zealand or Australia, who has worked on very large building construction projects.
