As a Design (or Senior Design) Manager with Summerset Group you will primarily be leading projects across multiple development sites in the Auckland region. You will work closely with the Development design team and external architects to manage projects in the design concept phase including preparing drawings and presentations.

You will also be responsible for leading design teams on projects in the design management and output phases. You will oversee completion of the detailed construction drawing packages that meet the requirements of your internal customers to manage cost, tender and build requirements. 

You will be based in Wellington working out of the Majestic Centre (a landmark in Wellington), reporting to the Head of Design you will work closely with 8 other Design Managers on a large capital works programme with a value in the billions.
 
You will be comfortable mentoring Technicians / Designers, Summerset use Revit so you should be proficient with design review using this software. You will have a few direct reports being technicians / designers that assist you with the detail on your projects.

Your proven work experience will include;

• Leading and administering large complex projects
• Reviewing and making design changes in Revit
• Running design teams on projects, complex buildings and multi-storey mixed use apartment blocks and residential villa type accommodation (or similar)

You will also be experienced in;

• Contract administration, site observation and value engineering and Design Coordination. 
• Complex builds involving multi-storey structures, ideally mixed use
• Have Revit software experience (not essential)
• Project Management experience 
• Understand construct-ability and building design - ideally due to you previously being an Architect or having a relevant technical degree that provides that foundation of knowledge.
