An exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced Quantity Surveying Manager to lead and manage a productive team of Quantity Surveyors from Gartshore's head office in Tauranga.
Part of the Senior Management Team, working in tandem with the Operations Manager and reporting directly to the Managing Director and CFO, this role encompasses the commercial management of interior fitout, construction and joinery manufacture projects.
Responsibilities involve planning and managing costs related to multiple projects, calculating budgets based on premium clients customised requirements, tendering, procurement and preparing detailed estimates to ensure budgets are sufficient for each stage of the project. You will seek to minimise the costs of each project and enhance value for money, whilst still achieving the highest level of standards and second to none quality the organisation is renowned for.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tender (bid) management, estimating and costs proposal experience
- Experience monitoring and analysing P&L
- Ideally a background in joinery, construction, or interior fit out industry
- Quantity Surveying or related qualifications
- Ability to read & interpret plans and estimate building, material, labour costs
- Experience negotiating with suppliers and contractors to obtain best price
- Knowledge of building methodology and materials
- Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, including the CCA, New Zealand Building Code, NZ Building Act 2004 and local by-laws
- Experience contributing to day to day management and strategic direction
- Advanced level of mathematics, accounting and calculation skills
- Exceptional planning, organisational, and communication skills
