With increasing projects comes the need to increase the team and and in order to maximise on opportunities; this local contractor is looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Estimator.
This organisation requires an experienced Estimator who can "hit the ground running" and has in-depth understanding of pricing from first principles, proficient computer skills and preperation of outline estimates.
Your knowledge of the local market is what will make the difference in this role. Having a proven history in Estimating Bulk Earthworks, Land Development, Water and Drainage Construction projects will be advantageous.
You will need to have:
- Previous experience in Estimating, with experience in the Civil Engineering sector
- A sound knowledge of local plant, materials, construction methodologies and subcontractor trades and suppliers
- Experience in Civil Construction work, relating to materials required, hourly output of workers and plant, overhead expenses and associated costs
- An understanding of preparing tender documentation and how to make your submission stand out from the crowd
- Ability to complete careful and accurate calculations taking information from drawings and working closely with the pre-construction team
- Ability to collect, classify and evaluate data that would be useful during the estimating process.
Having gained a relevant tertiary qualification, you will be able to demonstrate experience in the civil engineering sector and have a strong knowledge of contractors and suppliers across Canterbury.
