This is an opportunity to for a seasoned professional to join our Infrastructure Projects team in this newly created role. Reporting to the Project Director, with a functional relationship to the Infrastructure Projects National Commercial Manager, the Project Commercial Manager is responsible for the contractual, financial and risk management functions within the project. A strong focus on customer relationships and securing work, while managing and ensuring the project is controlled in line with financial return and profitability. This role will provide a project framework across all areas of commercial, financial, contractual and business practices and contribute significantly to the development and growth of the Downer NZ business with a strong focus on sustainable business improvement.

To be considered for this role you will have extensive experience in a similar commercial role, preferably with contractors in predominantly civil infrastructure projects and hold a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent, e.g. BSc, RICS, NZCQS or equivalent. Your expertise will include providing management support in the construction or infrastructure sectors, with a demonstrated ability to promote consistency and accurately with regards to forecasting, cash flow and predictability of project outcomes on a large scale. Naturally it would be expected that you will have proven business development experience in a commercial environment with strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills.
