The down-sides of being just a number with a large Civils company is that you're probably going to continue to do what you're doing for a long time to come. That will apply to the site you're going to be on for a very long time either as well as your career progress. If you're happy with that, don't bother reading further.
For real variety in your job and where you're going to be a valued part of the team, able to walk into the head honcho's office at any time, is with this medium sized Tier 2 Civils Company who are quietly getting on with some spectacular construction of retaining structures and building foundations all over Auckland.
If you are a competent Piling & Drilling Rig operator and love nothing better than putting those piles in the ground with excellent accuracy and production rates, this is an opportunity to work on high volume sites. The company has the capability to build Bored Piles up to 2.5m dia and are seeking operators who enjoy and have experience in operating in the range of 25 - 35 ton machines.
This role will have real variety - working on a subdivision doing retaining structures one day to beside a motorway the next; on residential and commercial sites plus infrastructure projects your skills will be stretched and expanded.
Everybody is on first name terms in this company and your personal performance will be seen and noticed so that you will progress through the company's structure that is built to develop star performers - not lock you into a rigid pay grades with no room to progress until your supervisor moves on or dies!
