The Opportunity:

Our client  is highly respected and a market leader in the commercial pumps and pumping systems market. The company looks to hire talented individuals with strong values who thrive in a successful sales environment where people are rewarded for their results. The company's commercial pump division is in growth mode and they  wish to recruit a mechanical engineer with a sales orientation. Working alongside Consultants and Master Dealers, you will work on a range of commercial projects and rural applications projects.

Responsibilities:

Based in Auckland head office, the appointee will be responsible for specific projects, together with consolidating key customer relationships and developing new business. This is a key role and the appointee will have the opportunity to move into leadership in the future. 

The successful candidate will be capable of supporting new project opportunities and will work with engineering companies and design consultants providing technical support ensuring specification and correct application of products. In addition they will need to understand application needs to develop pump system quotations and specifications.

Candidate Specifications:

A motivated individual with an engineering base seeking an opportunity to extend themselves is required for this role together with the ability to read and understand mechanical drawings. Whilst sales experience is preferred, one on one coaching and mentoring wil be provided.

In addition you will have the following:

  • A strong commercial understanding and an ability to set strategy and deliver growth according to plan.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and the ability to provide product specifications and calculations.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good relationship building abilities, with the skill to engage with engineers.
  • Sound planning and organisational capabilities.
