Our new, unified organisation provides a fire and emergency service that delivers for communities, and the firefighters who serve them, now and in the future.

We currently have an exciting three year fixed-term opportunity for an experienced Change Coach (Leader Coach) to join our busy and innovative team. Reporting to the Principle Advisor Organisational Development, you'll be responsible for developing the change leadership capability of our leaders across various levels through coaching and supporting our leaders in their task of facilitating their people through Business As Usual and integration changes. This role will also support and enable other internal Leader Coaches at National Headquarters (NHQ) and all regions so that as an organisation we get better at change every time.

We are looking for someone with:

  • demonstrated experience (ideally five or more years) and skills in leadership coaching - for large organisational transformation or change programmes, preferably government and/or emergency sectors
  • demonstrable experience of establishing trusted working relationships with numerous and varied leaders across all organisational levels and stakeholders for example, personnel (including a volunteer workforce), unions / associations
  • the ability to demonstrate an understanding of how people move through the change curve and the role that leaders play in facilitating their people through change
  • a background in organisational behaviour, psychology or psycho metrics, group dynamics, management and organisation theory, organisational development and change and team building
  • strong interpersonal and intra personal skills, understands diversity, inclusion and volunteerism
  • demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity, at pace and to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • the ability to be practical, flexible, adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity while being delivery focused
  • a strong, practical and humanistic approach to solving problems and delivering solutions
  • the ability to translate organisational readiness into practical and achievable coaching implementation plans
  • strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well and collaborate with others, building trusted relationships and influencing
  • a congruent, empathetic and warm personality
  • the ability to build trust quickly
  • resourcefulness and self-sufficiency.

The remuneration range for this role is $110,000 to $120,000. Benefits include matched KiwiSaver employer contributions to 3% and unlimited fair use sick leave policy.
