Reporting directly into the General Manager, this role is responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the risk and H&S strategies, frameworks and policies in line with the latest legislative requirements and company protocols. The Health, Safety and Risk Manager will also lead and maintain the company’s risk-based management systems and registers for HFM NZ and Investment entities.

Key Accountabilities:

• Oversee all aspects of risk throughout the business with a focus on Health and Safety yet also a key focus on environmental, fire, security and operational risk
• Establish and maintain the Risk Registers and Risk-Based Management Systems across the business working with all levels of senior management
• Lead the ongoing formulation of H & S Strategy
• Implement and execute H & S systems strategy to improve H & S culture and performance, including contractor H & S management programs.
• Prepare and present the quarterly H & S reports for the HSE Committees and Boards
• Prepare and present the Risk Registers and risk mitigation strategies for the Boards
• Encourage and engage staff in line with the focus on Health, Safety and Risk and develop a team culture where innovative approaches to work, work place issues, systems and problems are fostered.

The successful candidate will be tertiary qualified in OH & S and be able to demonstrate delivery of Risk and H & S strategy and performance improvement in a comparable senior management role. You will take an innovative approach to organizational improvement and change while always striving for efficiency and effectiveness of business processes.
