Hohepa Canterbury provides services and supports to people with an intellectual disability from our beautiful campus nestled at the foot of the Cashmere hills. We are looking for a People and Capability Administrator to join our dynamic team.
This is an interesting and diverse role that will have you involved in a variety of operational human resources activities such as:
- Assisting with the recruitment and new starter process, including interviewing, processing of employment agreements, arranging induction and onboarding activities
- General HR administration
- Processing of payroll together with the Finance Administrator on a fortnightly basis
- Responding to questions from managers and employees on human resources and payroll queries with the support from the People & Capability Manager
As the first point of contact for new employees, you will be confident communicating with people to take them through their new starter journey smoothly and efficiently, and – once they are on board – continue to be responsive to their employment queries, concerns, and changes while they are with Hohepa.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience using a payroll system
- Strong MS Office computer skills
- Able to identify, articulate and deliver on opportunities to improve HR systems
- Excellent communication skills so to thrive in a busy, people-centred work environment.
We employ approximately 120 people, so the role enables a personal touch, including day to day contact with people with a disability that we are supporting.
