This role is part of the People and Performance Group and this team is responsible for the strategy of keeping our people safe, and for delivering on the promise we make to our customers. As LIC has sites throughout the country, the role will involve some travel throughout New Zealand.
About You
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will be responsible for:
• Developing and implementing a Health, Safety and Environment strategy plan
• Delivering sound business and strategic advice at an executive and board level
• Development of quality based frameworks and policies
• Conducting risk assessments and actively participating in audits, investigations and reviews
• Contractor management, including inductions
• Building safety leadership capability through training
Skills and experience:
• Relevant tertiary qualification and sound knowledge of the New Zealand legislative environment including HSE, ACC and HSNO
• Exceptional relationship building and communication skills
• Effective at motivating, inspiring confidence and creating a collaborative environment
• In-depth understanding of developing a Health, Safety and Environment strategy, implementing group policy and managing Health, Safety and Environment at a senior level
• Demonstrated history of reducing risk and using influential skills to drive change.
