The Intelligence Systems Advisor is a key position within New Zealand Police Intelligence, based in the National Intelligence Centre (NIC) at Police National Headquarters, Wellington.

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the development of technology-enabled intelligence capability, provide advice on intelligence systems requirements, and to coordinate and lead the Intelligence Systems team within the NIC.  An important aspect of the role is partnering with other business units and agencies to maintain awareness and engagement in key areas of focus, including geospatial intelligence systems.

At the national level, the NIC coordinates intelligence activities around the country, provides support to districts, and leads national intelligence activities on behalf of Police. The NIC is the liaison point with other intelligence agencies nationally and internationally.

The role within our organisation is to lead the activities for Our Business and enable our people to deliver them.

Skills - you will be able to:

1.            Present complex (written or verbal) concepts at an executive management level

2.            Collaborate and engage with stakeholders, building trust at all levels of the organisation

3.            Maintain quality of work under strict timeframes, monitoring progress and re-prioritising as necessary

4.            Contribute to the design, development and implementation of plans, projects, or initiatives

5.            Lead a team, adapting people management style or approach to the individual and situation

6.            Manage competing demands and expectations of a range of people and workgroups

Experience - you will have:

1.            Necessary knowledge to work with ICT and Intel technologies

2.            Demonstrated experience in leading high performing teams to achieve organisational outcomes

3.            Demonstrated experience and ability to build and maintain relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders

4.            Demonstrated experience preparing papers, ideally including business cases with recommendations for action to obtain approval for project development

5.            Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks and projects through to completion

Additional information:
