We’re a market leading, highly aspirational global technology business with a very clear purpose. This year we’ll deliver around 1.8 billion, yes billion, messages for our customers. They’ll leverage our world class technology to communicate with their customers or staff through existing and new mobile messaging channels.

As part of our growing Technology Team you will play a key role in the development of new products across the business, including our Web Product, back-end microservices, gateway and API’s.

You’ll work within a small squad of technical specialists, in  an agile environment, with end-to-end responsibility for a group of products/services. This involves working with product owners, tech leads and  testers to deliver new features and services, enhancements and optimisations, as well as bug fixes and tech-debt. To do this, we expect you to deliver high quality code that is efficient, maintainable, performant and robust, and ensure rapid movement through the integration / deployment pipeline. You’ll also help define solutions, contribute to estimates, peer reviews, and deploy your work to production.

We encourage rapid-prototyping, and proof of concept releases and value innovative solutions to solve problems. You’ll get exposure to the latest technologies – microservice architectures, orchestration tools, containers, and serverless; time for training and skills development, as well as the chance to work with and learn from experts in a range of areas.

To add value as one of our team you'd ideally need to be:

• A solid Java developer with experience using Java 8 or better, working on enterprise grade applications/services and using frameworks such as Spring.
• Competent in the analysis of complex problems and translating these into viable solutions
• Well versed with Unit and functional testing, QA testing automation and continuous integration and deployment to cloud environments
• You have solid experience working with and building APIs, including for internal microservices
• You understand the benefits and are committed to working using dev ops methodologies
• You are a passionate developer who wants to take on more and make stuff happen, you are a driver not a passenger
• Ideally but not essential, you have a computer science or software engineering qualification
