HIBS is a leading Year 7 to 13 state integrated school for boys in the Wellington region, situated in Trentham, Upper Hutt. We are committed to providing top quality education for our students and have a reputation for outstanding academic achievement. Having been established in 1991, HIBS is a young school with excellent modern facilities. 

This is an exciting role for a person who is passionate about digital technology. Reporting to the IT Manager you will join the Network Engineer to complete the team of three who are responsible for designing and developing digital solutions for the school. The right person will add value to the team by contributing their proven capabilities in Digital Media Design and Development to complement the teams’ network and software engineering expertise.

One half of this role is being the “go-to” person for Audio and Visual Design requirements of the school. You will take pride in developing a range of digital media including promotion videos, school reports, ID cards, graphics, documentation, and other media for the school. Updating social media sites, websites, databases, and other school apps will be a breeze for you. You will be a fast and keen learner, ready to master the use of the lighting and sound system to run school assemblies, awards nights, school dances, and school productions. This will be your realm.

The other half of this role requires you to be an all-rounder of IT support. You will provide day-to-day IT support for staff and students. You should already have a base knowledge of digital technologies to confidently and methodically troubleshoot basic computer, projector, laptop, printing, application, and other technical issues. As part of the technical team, you will also be willing to assist the Network Engineer and IT Manager in infrastructure and curriculum development. 

While the Technical skills are important in this role, it is more important to get the right personality fit. We require someone who enjoys helping people and has the patience to teach staff and students with a range of IT skills. The right person is a people person first, with design skills and IT skills second and third.

- Digital media design skills. Adobe and Office products.
- Competency in troubleshooting computer hardware and software issues.
