About the role:
Our in-house studio team are looking for a motivated, hard-working Intermediate Mac Operator for fixed-term maternity cover in our busy studio. While this is predominantly a Mac Operator role there will occasionally be some opportunities for design.
The successful applicant will be working on a variety of tasks in a fast paced print environment and will be a team player with a positive attitude, ability to manage deadlines, accurate in your work and have excellent attention to detail.
Sound written and verbal English skills are essential in this role.
Job tasks and responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
• Typesetting and layout design for calendars and advertising copy.
• Image re-touching and colour correction.
• Pre-press file handling for digital and offset print files – ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Creating proofs for clients in a timely manner.
• Managing deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Actively assisting other team members to ensure continuous flow of work through the studio.
Skills and experience
Ideally you will possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:
• Tertiary Graphic Design qualification.
• Preferably 2-3 years experience (in-house or print industry experience would be preferred).
• Competent in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat and Illustrator).
• Working knowledge of production files with pre-press skills. Confident in setting up print-ready files and finished artwork.
• Proactive attitude and adaptable, quick learner.
Restricted Drivers Licence at least
