We're looking for a talented full-time Intermediate Designer to join our small but passionate team at Renovate.
Renovate Magazine is a quarterly mag made in New Zealand, focused on home renovations, landscaping, style and architecture. A personal interest in these areas (and a love of magazines) would be beneficial! Being a small (but mighty!) independent magazine, we are looking for someone who is a proactive self-starter, who can contribute fresh new creative ideas into the mix!
Renovate Magazine sits under the established Traffic Group which also runs as a design and marketing agency. This position is to fill the role as the main designer at Renovate Magazine, but also to be part of the Traffic Group design and marketing team working on additional client work. With a variety of clients and projects, there's always something new and different to work on!
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Design of quarterly magazine layout and content
- Creative input and direction
- Sourcing imagery and permission rights
- Opportunity to create advertising for ad clients
- Create a diverse range of visual concepts, layout designs and spreads
- Solving complicated publication layout issues, such as balancing advertisements with content
- Email newsletter design
- Brochure design
- Website design, content layout and loading
- Signage, building and vehicle graphics
- Point of Sale design, display stands and trade show design
In order to be considered for this role, you must have the following technical skills:
- Adobe Creative Cloud Suite: InDesign, Illustration, Photoshop, Acrobat
- Ability to create press-ready artwork files
- Typography skills
- Understanding of and ability to design for print and digital environments
- Web-based content management system loading
- Microsoft office
- Minimum 2 years Graphic Design experience required
- Ideally be Google suite proficient
