YHA National Office

YHA New Zealand is the leading provider of quality budget accommodation with a nationwide network of hostels. We are seeking a talented and motivated administrative professional to join our organisation where people and values count.

Based in our National Office in Christchurch this full time role will see you providing quality administrative support to our CE, senior managers and National Office staff. It is a varied role covering digital administrative support, event co-ordination and office management responsibilities. Please see the attached position description for more detail.

This position is hands on and a key role in our office so it's essential you are flexible, task focused and tech savvy. You will have a creative spark and be able to anticipate people's needs to develop solutions to issues. Fit is everything for YHA, so if you are pro-active, personable and have a positive approach to life you will blend in well with our team.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Previous office administration experience; a minimum of 2 years
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent spelling, grammar and proof reading skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Experience with Mailchimp and Adobe products, including Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Pro is desirable but not essential
  • Event co-ordination experience
  • A strong commitment to sustainability
  • An inclusive, open working style which encourages communication and delivers results
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads

This is full-time permanent position and the successful applicant will ideally start early August.
