The Role: What This Opportunity's All About
The Department of Infectious Diseases is looking for an experienced Medical Secretary to join its administration team. This is a pivotal supporting role, providing secretarial services and administrative support to the department. This is a six month fixed-term position, worked part-time (16 hours p/w) on Thursdays and Fridays, 8am - 4.30pm.
Responsibilities include:
- Typing a range of letters and documents, primarily via Winscribe
- General clerical and administrative tasks
- Entering information accurately to the patient management system
- Recording minutes of meetings
- Answering phones and greeting patients and their families
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be an experienced administrator
- Have strong typing skills, including using Dictaphone/Winscribe
- Have an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy in your work
- Be an excellent communicator and uphold a professional manner with patients and colleagues
- Ideally have a health background or a basic understanding of medical terminology
- Be able to prioritise and keep calm in busy situations
