About the role
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for people contacting CARE. You will be the first friendly face our clients see as they enter our building or the first person they hear at the end of the phone. The receptionist is key to making clients, visitors and other staff feel welcome and cared for while they wait for appointments. The receptionist is also able to juggle a range of duties during their day:
- Meeting and greeting clients
- Responding to email and phone queries
- Directing counselling and social work referrals to our Referral Coordinator
- Processing food bank and budgeting service referrals
- Receiving and processing client payments
- Offer administration assistance to the management team, referral coordinator and other staff.

Skills and experience
To thrive in this role you will be:

- Able to learn things quickly and on the go!
- A great listener; sensitive to the needs and vulnerable situations clients are experiencing.
- Able to clearly communicate information via email, over the phone or in person with clients in a way that conveys the heart of our organisation.
- Experienced in customer service and comfortable interacting with a range of stakeholders.
- Organised, with great attention to detail and proven administration skills.
- Confident finding your way Microsoft office and a range of client management systems or assisting staff with basic IT troubleshooting.
- Able to calmly juggle multiple things at once and prioritise tasks according to deadlines.
