Veterinary Associates Equine & Farm is seeking applicants for a full-time seasonal Vet Nurse position (August 2018 – January 2019). This is an opportunity to work with a dedicated team of thirteen veterinarians, including a board-certified internist, a board-certified surgeon, two interns, six nurses, two nurse assistants, and two office staff in a full-service equine ambulatory and referral practice. The position will predominantly involve in-hospital patient care, surgical assistance, and clinic-based appointments, though assistance on ambulatory calls will also be required. For the right applicant, there may be an opportunity for the position to become permanent.

Veterinary Nurse Qualification is not required, though preferred. Favourable applicants will have experience working as a veterinary nurse, strong horse-handling skills, a willingness and ability to perform physical labour, and an enthusiastic and team-oriented attitude.

Veterinary Associates is an equine general and referral practice located in Karaka, South Auckland, New Zealand. The practice is heavily involved in all types of equine pursuits and has a large surgical, medical, and reproductive caseload, providing a tremendous variety of work. The work environment is attractive; our custom-built hospital is only six years old and is well equipped with the latest equine medical technology. This includes a fully equipped surgical suite, dynamic endoscopy, digital radiography, ultrasonography, dentistry gear, IRAP, PRP, an in-house diagnostic laboratory, and an in-house stem cell culture laboratory. Karaka is a lovely rural community located just thirty minutes from Auckland’s central business district.
