We have a great opportunity for an experienced, qualified Social Worker in the Whangarei area to work with families and children.
Family Works Northern provides a range of strength based practice child and family services, programmes and community development initiatives located in eleven community-based centres and numerous schools in the Upper North Island.
Our Whangarei site is looking for a qualified, experienced Social Worker to work with families in the Whangarei area.
This unique role will see you utilise established community links to engage families, strengthen skills, and build resilience for positive change around violence and abuse.
If you have proven skills in:
- Engaging family/whanau in ways that are respectful, culturally appropriate and family centred
- Working with families affected by multiple issues
- Safety and risk assessment, leading to sound planning and goal setting with the family
- Developing group learning opportunities for families
- Facilitating Family/whanau hui, and professionals meetings
- Have outstanding communication and people skills
- Demonstrate initiative and creative approaches to professional practice
- Able to work independently
If you are a qualified Social Worker, registered, or eligible for registration with SWRB, and hold a full NZ driver's licence- then we would like to hear from you.
