This role is to support a 5 year old Boy with Autism who is intelligent and non-verbal.
There is a morning routine and an afternoon routine and one hour of housework during the day. Tasks will involve, preparing for school, meal preparations, dressing, nappy changes, showering. Along with household tasks: dishes, laundry and general household cleaning.
The ideal candidate will be organised, patient, reliable and assertive.
You will be required to work Monday – Friday.
Morning routine: 7.15-8.15am
Housework: 1 hour during weekdays – completed between 8.15am-2.45am (exact timing is flexible)
Afternoon routine: 2.45-6pm
You are welcome to seek other employment outside of these hours, if they do not conflict with this role. If client is unable to attend school and is sick, additional hours will be required. Role will also include additional casual hours during weekends for family outings when an extra pair of hands is needed. This will be arranged in advance. There may also be additional hours for overseas trips.
Childcare or experience with children with Autism preferred. Clear well spoken communication skills are required. Training opportunities available.
Hours will be paid via payroll, after board costs have been deducted. Role will start with a 3 month paid trial, employer is looking for a long term worker to be part of the family. As this role is live-in accommodation, utility and meals costs are deducted.
