Machine Operator in a steel manufacturing production department with welding skills.

 

Industrial Tube is a privately-owned company based in Hamilton manufacturing both Mild and Stainless-steel tube.

Working in our Value Add department we are looking for a person to operate our semi and automated manufacturing machinery. Some of the machinery you would operate includes, precision cutting machines, Pressing and punching machines, a Flatbed rapid drilling machine, and a Laser cutting machine. Also, you would be required to assemble and weld fencing components.

This position would suit someone with good mechanical experience/aptitude, welding skills and an attitude to learn. Being self-motivated, a team player and keeping up with the pace of production is essential.

 

Duties include: 

  • Setting up and Operating various steel processing machines including inputting and programming data into the machines interfaces.
  • Using computer-based production management systems, record production and quality information.
  • Read and understand CAD drawings.
  • Assemble and weld fencing components including gates and rails.
  • Work in a team environment so production outputs are ensured and completed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and deliver components to suppliers for outwork
  • Pack and assemble products for dispatching

 

Prerequisites:

  • Forklift experience required
  • Must have a current car drivers license
  • Be able to operate a Gantry Crane. (Training will be provided)
  • Having a Basic understanding of computers and can input information.
  • Can work in a team environment 
  • Good communication skills
  • Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn. Can pay attention to detail and problem solve quickly and efficiently.
  • Good understanding of H&S practices and procedures. (Can work safely)
  • Physically fit 
  • Police Clearance required, ITM maintains a drug free environment.

 

In return we offer Monday to Friday work. Normal hours of 6.30 – 4.00pm plus OT after 40hrs if required.

We don’t work on public holidays and 3 weeks off during Xmas and New Year’s.
