Hospice Waikato operates 8 opportunity shops throughout the Waikato. The Hospice Waikato shops’ revenue help to support our services throughout the Waikato region and are vital for the continuation and growth of Hospice services.
Our stores sell a range of quality recycled goods including furniture, clothing, shoes, bedding, books, home ware, bric-a-brac and more. The stores are overseen by a Regional Retail Manager, 9 paid employees and by a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers who make up the majority of our retail team.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse & Logistics Team Leader to join our Retail team on a permanent full-time basis. Our Warehouse is located at our Lake Road, Frankton store and is where our donated items are stored, sorted and redistributed between our 8 stores in the Waikato.
This role is responsible for managing stock donations, redistributing donations between our stores, establishing efficient processes and distribution systems and ensuring that stock is in a saleable condition before distribution. A strong Health and Safety focus is essential for this role; championing safe practices and ensuring a positive safety culture is embraced, ensuring stock safety and integrity during receipting materials, storage, despatch and transportation. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills for interaction with our customers and fantastic leadership skills for leading their team of volunteers, a Warehouse Assistant and Delivery Driver.

Essential:
- Proven success in leading a team
- Previous Warehouse and distribution experience
- Physical fitness, lifting and moving goods and furniture is required
- Current full New Zealand driver’s license
- A positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Honesty and reliability
Desirable:
- H&S qualification
