The South Pacific Seeds group has grown to be the largest specialist vegetable seed company in Oceania. South Pacific Seed Sales (NZ) Ltd is a seed sales and treatment company based in Pukekohe supplying commercial growers nationwide with their seed requirements.

There is now a vacant position within the Seed Treatment division – Seed Innovations. The successful person will be based at Alpito Place in Pukekohe and work a permanent 40 hour week from Monday to Friday.

This role will suit a practical person with either primary industry experience or someone who is mechanically minded and would like to begin a career in the seed industry. The team is small but the working environment is fun and lively.

The role involves working in a busy and varied environment with primary responsibility for carrying out the seed treatment process, operating and maintaining plant and equipment, conducting research and development, managing quality and liaising with customers & suppliers.

The successful candidate will participate in the Company share and bonus scheme after two years of employment, plus benefit from life & income protection insurance after 12 months.

Skills you will develop while working in this role include:

• Seed treatment processing
• Packing, plus plant and machinery operation experience
• Quality assurance of incoming and outgoing seed shipments
• Safe agrichemical handling skills
• Stakeholder communication skills

Qualifications we will assist you in gaining are:

• Forklift licence
• GrowSafe Approved Handler’s Certificate
