Chemiplas is a leading importer and distributor of specialty chemicals and plastic raw materials to a broad base of industries. The Company represents some of the World’s leading manufacturers and has an outstanding reputation for the quality and standing of their product range and their performance as a supplier. Customer Services is a vital link in the Supply Chain process and the customer services team is currently looking for an experienced Customer Service/Sales Support person to manage key client accounts and support the sales team for the Food Division at its Head Office in Grey Lynn.

The right candidate will have a strong background in Customer Service, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail as well as the 'care factor' and ownership of the role.   Proven experience in doing what is right for our customers and for our business, looking for cost effective, time efficient and quality assured ways of meeting client requirements and expectations. 

An ability to manage a variety of tasks is essential as the pace can at times be pressured whilst liaising with warehouses, carriers, 3rd party providers, customers and sales reps.  The nature of the product we sell and the Clients we supply requires impeccable attention to detail and care.   Candidates must be able to build and maintain relationships via phone and email and as such, must possess first rate written and verbal communication skills.

The successful candidate will be highly organised and forward thinking, looking not just at what is happening this week, but also actively seeking out potential issues. They need to be comfortable asking questions (even if they have already asked them!) in order to gain a full understanding of the business and its processes. Confidence to ask for help if/when required is also essential to ensure clients are not let down.   

This role is Sales Support to our Nutraceuticals/Pharmaceuticals division, a varied role that incorporates order placement on Suppliers, costing breakdowns as well as ex store orders to Customers.   Additional to the above this role requires the management of our Dairy Inventory which requires strict MPI regulations and processes to be followed.   Experience dealing with ED's, FIC's or MPI would be ideal.   Attention to detail is essential, with proven experience in a similar Customer Service/Sales Support role.   An understanding of foreign exchange, costings breakdowns and inventory reconciliation would be an advantage, as would a sound grasp of mathematics, metrics and freight forwarding processes, systems and terminology.  The company uses Microsoft AX.

Whilst the role itself has a wide range of tasks, the person that fills it must be a trusty team player, willing to assist where necessary in other areas of the business; providing cover during absences or assistance during peak periods to others within the customer services team.  A positive, friendly & flexible ‘can do’ attitude would be highly appreciated, both internally and by external clients and suppliers.

  • Possess a strong ability to maintain high quality processes and procedures at all times

  • Be able to prioritise workload and manage time effectively
  • Be proactive/Forward thinking/problem solving
