Our NZ division has a career building opportunity to work at our Nelson Yard as the Yard Manager.  Reporting to the South Island Operations Manager, this position provides you with a tremendous opportunity to grow our business by providing excellent vendor and customer service and ensuring maximum efficiency of the yard operations. 

Other key responsibilities include;

• Management of all yard operations to ensure Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality requirements are exceeded,
• Maximise sustainable profit by establishing and implementing production goals, objectives and procedure in line with budgets and forecasts,
• Use knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, with the use of continuous improvement techniques for maximising the effective processing of scrap,
• Conduct training as required, including induction of new employees.

For you to be successful in this role;

You will be a proven leader with experience as a self-starter who has excellent interpersonal and people management skills as well as in depth scheduling, planning and time management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including experience with SAI would be advantageous. 

Knowledge and understanding of scrap metal materials, processing techniques and equipment is a must and tertiary qualifications in a related field are preferred.
