Our client is a manufacturer of innovative and unique value added dairy products for the hospitality, food manufacturing and export markets. They currently seek a self-motivated and meticulous Quality Manager to support their fast-moving and growing business.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining quality management procedures and systems, providing expert knowledge in order to achieve compliance and meet customer expectations. Working with laboratory and regulatory staff, you will be in charge of the management of grading and release of all products.
As an industry expert, you will either already have managerial experience in the food/ dairy sector by which you work to a collaborative team leadership style. Alternatively, you may have extensive quality experience and you are keen to move into a senior position. Of prime importance will be your ability to keep a wider view of the commercial needs of the business and your skill at effectively liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
To be considered for this position you must have:
- More than 3 years’ experience in Quality/Food Safety system implementation and maintenance
- Tertiary qualification in Food Technology or relevant discipline
- Experience with an Export Company is ideal
- Experience in Dairy industry is advantageous but not essential
- Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, Halal, RMP and NZFSA standards
- Proven negotiation and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to make difficult decisions quickly
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- A desire to develop others and work with a team spirit
The successful person in this role will have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills; strategic thinker with high standards of integrity and a customer-focused approach. An ability to think on your feet, calmly investigate problems and manage audits will be crucial to doing well in this role.
