Our New Zealand region is currently looking for a Yardhand/Driver to join our Christchurch depot team. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for the delivery of our fleet and providing workshop support and co-ordination.

This job offers the opportunity to work for a global organisation, with a great team environment in a role that offers variety.

Key responsibilities consist of:    

• Delivery of goods to project sites.
• Refuelling of equipment on site.
• Be part of an on call roster.
• Manual & forklift loading and unloading of goods.
• Consistent upkeep of the workshop.
• Maintaining a high level of site cleanliness to ensure a healthy and safe environment.
• General yard duties – sweeping workshop floors, clean-up of the workshop and yard etc.
• Receiving and dispatching of goods.
• Assist Service Technicians when needed.
• Refuelling and checking equipment on return from hire. Basic mechanical skills required.
• Maintaining cable stock
• Forklift and class 2 truck, fitted with small Hiab, operation.
• Practise of safe work habits following Aggreko Health, Safety and Environment and any other relevant company policies and procedures, such as the use of PPE clothing provided.
• Delivery of objectives on strict timeframes.

About you:

• Ability to work individually but also in a team.
• Current Fork Lift and class 2 truck licence.
• Basic mechanical skills
• An honest, motivated and hardworking attitude.
• Interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Physically fit as manual labouring is required.
• Basic computer and smart phone skills, emails online training etc.
• Ability to act with initiative and problem solve in pressure situations.
• Excellent time management skills.
