We are on the hunt for an outstanding Customer Service extraordinaire to join our Ceres Fresh Market family as a Shop Assistant at our trendy Ponsonby Central location. Reporting to the Fresh Market Manager you'll be joining a fantastic high energy team that is the face of the Ceres Organics brand. On a day to day basis you will be replenishing the produce out in the market, serving our local community and customers behind the till as well as making delicious juices and smoothies for our organic loving clientele.
We are looking to supplement our Ponsonby team with a part-time Retail Shop assistant. Different shift patterns are allocated within our usual work hours of Monday to Sunday 7:00am to 7:00pm. This role will have a minimum of 28 hours per week. It is essential that you can work weekends, if not both days then a Saturday or a Sunday, plus weekdays. Ideally you'd have the flexibility to pick up additional shifts in the case of staff leave or peak periods.
To be considered for the role you will have previous retail and/or customer service experience. It would be fantastic if you've been in a job where you've made smoothies or juices before. You are a team player and have outstanding customer service skills and enjoy interacting with customers who have a passion for good food like you do.

We opened Ceres Fresh Market with the aim to bring organics into mainstream, to build and encourage, chemical free sustainable growing of fresh produce in New Zealand, proving organics can be affordable through local demand. We work directly with local growers who use ecological and sustainable agriculture methods, giving you access to organic and spray free produce when available. While we specialise in organic produce, availability is seasonal and often limited. Additionally, produce is sourced from overseas and local conventional produce where local organic produce is not available. Colour coded price boards distinguish between organic, spray free and conventional produce while also displaying country of origin so you always know what you're buying.
In addition to a wide range of fresh produce, you can rejuvenate and nourish yourself with hand crafted whole food creations from our fresh juice and smoothie bar. A small grocery selection of organic and environmentally conscious brands are also available.
