What you will be doing?
We are looking for an experienced Buyer/Category Manager to join our Merchandise team to oversee, develop and drive the communications category for the business. The Communications category is rewarding but challenging and has a strong strategic focus and leadership responsibilities. Saying this it provides a fantastic opportunity for you develop your retail career in a Company who is taking retail in NZ to the next exciting stage.
Reporting to the Merchandise Manager and working in a team of like-minded, passionate individuals, this role is key to ensuring business KPIs and strategic objectives are met and delivered.
As the Buyer, you will work cross functionally across the Merchandise teams and wider business functions, including Marketing and Operations.You will be responsible for driving profitable sales and margin through developing a strong merchandise strategy, effective negotiations with suppliers, planning market leading promotional campaigns with the review of existing and new products and services.
Who we are looking for?
This category is a key focus for us with huge growth expectations this year so we are seeking an experienced Buyer who wants to lead this growth and to truly drive sales.
To succeed in this role, you will have proven product management experience and be able to point to a successful career history in merchandise. You will also have the ability to work autonomously and to communicate and negotiate effectively all the while building strong relationships.
