We are looking to employ a person having passion for customer service and to assist the manager in organizing and controlling the operations of the Eastside Food market & Lotto. The Assistant Manager also must continually participate in the improvement of the Eastside Food market & Lotto and work towards achieving customer satisfaction.

Job Duties:

•       Assist the store manager in assigning, overseeing and evaluating staff duties

•       Cashing up all tills at the end of the shift

•       Dealing with staffing issues such as interviewing potential staff, training the staffs, conducting appraisals and performance reviews

•       Assist store manager by identifying and introducing new products in store

•       Assist store manager in discarding non-profitable products

•       Conducting verbal and written staff evaluation

•       Checking and processing all inward goods

•       Meeting and liaising with all suppliers

•       Attending to customer complaints

•       Prepare sales reports to assist the manager and discuss sales trends with the manager

•       Assist the manager in analysing the sales reports and in formulating budgeting

•       Implement service standard, ensure quality customer service is provided

•       Come up with special promotions, displays and other marketing plans

•       Ensure the store complies with all the food safety regulations

•       Dealing with sales and advising about certain products, as and when required.

We are looking for someone who has a proven history in:

  • Driving sales and achieving the store’s financial goals
  • Maximising the performance of all team members within the store by demonstrating a proven and effective leadership style
  • Being pro-active in decision-making, problem solving and performance management techniques.

 

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Hold a diploma or higher qualification in Business/Management
  • Work experience in managerial position for more than 1 year
  • It is great advantage for similar work experience in grocery store
  • work experience in purchasing and retailing pacific island grocery products for more than 1 year
  • Able to perform the tasks independently
  • A passion for excellence in customer service and sales
  • Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
  • Excellent understanding of merchandising and store presentation.
