The Role

IPC Asia Pacific is seeking an experienced and highly motivated candidate to support our New Zealand procurement activities as a Category Manager.

This role will be reporting into the Senior Procurement Manager and will suit someone who is driven to provide maximum cost savings that will increase the profitability of SUBWAY® Franchisees.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify savings opportunities to maximize Franchisee profitability
  • Develop a detailed cost structure and pricing protocol of each product
  • Develop strategies to ensure the ongoing achievement of cost savings
  • Understand the suppliers processing operations including raw materials and benchmarking overseas markets
  • Have a detailed understanding of relevant industries and maintain relationships with all key suppliers in that industry
  • Develop contingency supply plans for each product
  • With the assistance of the supplier, develop an annual cost and quality improvement plan, update it monthly and report progress to the IPC Asia Pacific group
  • Maintain up to date detailed supplier raw material purchases report


Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years ‘experience in a Buyer/Assistant Category Manager role
  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field or similar
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Experience in either QSR or FMCG industry is highly advantageous
  • Flexibility in ability to travel internationally is a must
