We provide a full range of accounting compliance and planning services to clients throughout the region the Lower North Island.  Our clients are successful SME and high-end businesses operating across a range of industries including the Agri sector. 

Having recently switched to a regional model and more personalised service for our clients, we are currently in the market for two Senior Accountants for our Central region.  You should be CA or CPA qualified or QBE (qualified by experience) and have recent experience working in a CA firm. Agri experience is an advantage.

About the Role

We are looking for Senior Accountants who get excited by working with business owners, helping them understand their numbers and is passionate about the success of their business.  Your typical day will extend beyond compliance into the realm of providing tangible value-add business advice to business owners.

Based in either our Martinborough or Wellington offices, both part-time and full time roles are available. Our cloud based systems and flexibility mean working from home is also an option for the right person. 

Key Duties include;

• Preparation of year-end financial statements & tax returns
• Monthly and quarterly management reporting for key clients
• Tax Planning, cashflows, budgeting and other advisory work
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with a portfolio of clients

Skills, Behaviours, Experience

• A minimum of 4 years general accounting experience
• Recent public practice experience in a BAS environment at Accountant or Senior Accountant level
• Recent experience with NZ tax as relevant to the SME environment
• Strong commercial acumen
• Able to create and maintain strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
• Able to prioritise and manage workload effectively and to specified deadlines
• Solutions focused
• Experience using Xero and other cloud based software including Spotlight, Futurli, Figured or CashManager Rural an advantage
