Our client is a leading consumer foods manufacturer based here in Christchurch. The company is continuing to invest in order to keep pace with new technologies and there is a strong commitment to product research and development. At the same time the business growth is being achieved without compromising the traditional values and the standards of quality upon which the business has founded its reputation.

The Company Accountant will report to and support the Managing Director, playing a key role as part of the operations team, but still with a high level of involvement in the accounts processes through to the delivery of the month end accounting. Other key responsibilities will include co-ordination of some of the budgeting and forecasting, daily bank reconciliations and cash flow analysis, management and costing of the freight accounts, data analysis and reporting on sales and production information and the ongoing enhancement of the accounting systems and accounting processes.

We view this position as ideally suiting a qualified Accountant, who gained a base level of accounting experience in either the chartered accounting and or the commercial sector, to now further develop their career in a very broadly based company accounting role. Strong interpersonal skills, a high level of computer literacy including good spreadsheet skills, a positive approach and a willingness to learn and develop the role further are also important prerequisites.
