Your role:

This is an exciting opportunity to start your career with a Global Leader in Manufacturing in their Penrose plant as an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter.

Throughout the apprenticeship you will learn how to perform a comprehensive range of mechanical maintenance activities in our large-scale glass manufacturing plant.  You will be put on rotation through the various maintenance teams, be guided by highly skilled tradesmen and managers and receive extensive on-the-job training.

On commencement of your apprenticeship you must enrol in a National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Level 4) and progress through your training requirements as per your training plan.   You may also be partially through your studies already and be looking to start learning more on the job or for a work environment where you can learn a broader set of skills.  As an added bonus your tertiary costs will also be covered by O-I NZ!  

 About you:

You will have a genuine interest in Mechanics, are technically minded, like working with your hands and be well motivated to start a career in Heavy Industrial Manufacturing.

You must have sounds verbal and written communication skills, understand the importance of safety at work, enjoy working in a team and have an excellent work ethic.   It is also a must that you are self motivated, reliable and have the confidence and ability to complete your studies.
