We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Work Execution Superintendent - Electrical at Pioneer Mill in Brandon.

Reporting directly to the Work Execution Superintendent, the Assistant Work Execution Superintendent - Electrical role is responsible for assisting in leading the maintenance and capital execution throughout the Burdekin region. The role has a focus around the design, assembly, installation, modification, testing, fault finding, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems, instruments, equipment and controls. Working in cooperation with the Work Execution Superintendent, the successful applicant must be able to manage a team to ensure high standards of safety, productivity, efficiency and quality of work in a heavy engineering environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a person with a strong work ethic and team orientation, along with initiative and excellent communication skills.

As part of the site leadership team you will:

  • Lead the teams on the continuous drive of safety improvement and compliance
  • Lead a team in delivering excellence in the execution of maintenance and capital work in a planned and efficient manner
  • Assist in the management of work to the planned cost as defined by the relative Asset Management Plan
  • Assist in managing deadlines and schedules associated with the work activity programme during the operating season and planned shutdown periods
  • Present and deliver relative reports relating to the management of the work programme
  • Assist with the development of maintenance and capital plans and cost estimates
  • Identify opportunities to increase productivity and efficiencies in work programme
  • Assist in organising teams to achieve the targets associated with the site maintenance key performance indicators
  • Work with and support the centralised regional Asset Management approach to planning, engineering and project works
  • Actively support and encourage multi region and companywide initiatives

The ideal candidates:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Electrical discipline or equivalent practical experience
  • Management or supervisory experience in a sugar mill or heavy industrial environment within maintenance and reliability
  • Current QLD electrical licence
  • Extensive experience in process control systems and networks
  • Knowledge of Citect, Bailey Info 90 DCS, Schneider, PLC, Microprocessor based control systems or similar
  • Sound knowledge of computer systems and common software
  • Proven problem solving skills
  • Be a motivating and well organised manager that leads by example
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Be proficient in the use of SAP (or similar) and have a high level of computer literacy
  • Possess a high level oral and written communication and practical problem solving skills
