As a Technical Officer you will form part of our dedicated operations team. You will be competent in all facets of property maintenance, with the qualifications, skills and on the job knowledge to undertake technical assessments and scoping on dwellings for routine and planned maintenance and upgrades.
You will be well organised, possess an empathetic nature and enjoy working with people and assisting others. You will be experienced in contractor management and have a good eye for detail.
This position will report to the Executive Manager Assets and will be based out of our Newcastle Office.
Essential Requirements:
- Carpentry or building skillset
- Significant practical experience in property maintenance
- Possess well developed communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Capability and experience in liaising with contractors
- Sound knowledge of WH&S legislation, risk assessments & hazard identification
- Sound computer skills
- Personal commitment to sustainability and process efficiency
- Current driver license
Desirable Requirements:
- Trade and/or building qualifications
- Appreciation of or in experience in the Social/Community Housing sector
