The opportunity

Partnered with our client, we are looking for a motivated go-getter searching to undertake their first steps toward becoming a qualified boilermaker. This full-time opportunity will allow you to complete a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade over 4 years’ duration. You will gain valuable hands-on experience, skills and support from industry professionals whilst undertaking your theory coursework.

Boilermakers use welding, thermal cutting equipment and fabrication techniques to assemble, repair and build different products made of metal or steel for various construction and manufacturing industry purposes. They use a wide range of hand and hand held power tools and workshop machines such as drills, grinders, clamps, benders and lifting equipment. Specific to this role, you will assist in the fabrication of pre-cast concrete moulds including MIG, TIG and Stick Welding, and operation of lathes.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for motivated and hardworking applicants who are serious about getting a highly sought-after trade qualification and are committed to developing their career within the fabrication industry. You will be ready to take on challenging physical work in a sometimes demanding environment and have a ‘safety first’ attitude. In addition to these qualities, you will:

  • Have a good comprehension of English and Mathematics
  • Have a positive attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Be a team player and have good communication skills

Applicants who have prior exposure to this industry – even if it’s as simple as working in welding at home – this will be highly regarded. Please feel free to include any pictures of projects in support of your application.
