The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 x Electrical Delivery Officer to be a part of our Customer Service Directorate within Sydney Trains. This role plays a pivotal role in providing support to the Low Voltage Technical Manager, Technical Coordinator’s and Project Coordinator’s to ensure that the electrical assets, within Sydney Trains and NSW Trains facilities, are installed and maintained to the required standards and regulations. This is done to ensure optimum whole of life value is achieved and minimum impact to Sydney Trains or customers in the event of asset failure.

 

Reporting to the Technical Manager Electrical, your key responsibilities are but not limited to; 

  • Provide 24/7 access to Low Voltage restricted access areas.
  • Provide 24/7 isolation of Low Voltage electrical assets to facilitate maintenance or construction works.
  • Provide technical advice about electrical assets to a variety of stakeholders undertaking work on Sydney Trains and NSW Trains facilities.
  • Provide 24/7 on call and call out support to assist contractors with emergency response to asset failure.
  • Perform Protection Officer duties, as required, to facilitate Low Voltage maintenance or construction works.
  • Deliver Technical Maintenance Plans and produce associated reports.
  • Review of contractor Routine Maintenance inspection reports and creation of notifications.

We are looking for a 2 x skilled electrical subject matter expert, on call 24/7, to provide electrical isolation, restricted area site access, asset corrective repair and routine inspection assurance, delivery of Technical Maintenance Plans and provide technical advice and information on electrical assets.

 

Please note that because of the nature of the role, you will hold/willing to obtain the below:

  • Hold the following issued by the NSW Fair Trading – a Qualified Supervisor Certificate (Electrical Work) or a Contractor Licence (Electrical – Q) – Mandatory.
  • NSW drivers license – Mandatory.
  • Is required to attain Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card
  • Is required to attain WorkCover NSW White Card (General Construction Industry Card)
  • Is required to attain and hold current Authorised Person (Low Voltage) certification.
  • Is required to attain and hold Protection Officer certification level 1

Essential requirements

  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, standards, codes of practice, policies and procedures.

  • Proven ability to meet critical maintenance deadlines and achieve tight targets.
  • NSW drivers license.
