As a leader in the exciting Vertical Gardens Industry, Vertical Gardens Australia is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Horticulturist to care for our lush, green, healthy plants and turn them into visually stunning Vertical gardens!
We are looking for a self-motivated individual to join our Production Team who loves to work in their own space and is looking to grow their skills and try something exciting and new! The successful candidate will have a love of plants and a passion for overseeing the growth of our plants from seedling to maturity.
The position involves working 38 hours per week, between the hours of 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday, with the flexibility to work the occasional weekend and public holiday. A minimum of 2 years experience in horticulture (or a similar role) is essential and a Certificate 3 in Horticulture is highly desirable.
Typical duties will include:
- Maintaining the health of our plants (watering, weeding, fertilisation)
- Overseeing the propagation of our plants over a 3 month cycle
- Monitoring stock levels and the re-ordering of soil, potting mix, fertilisers, etc
- General maintenance of the Hothouse
- Undertaking other duties as directed
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum 2 years Horticulturist (or similar) experience
- Good knowledge of plants, pests and pruning techniques
- Experience of potting and propagating new plants
- Good knowledge of soil content and fertilisers
- A genuine passion for maintaining healthy plants and creating beautiful vertical gardens
- A self-motivated, can-do attitude with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- A professional and reliable approach
- An ability to supervise potter
- An ability to put together garden designs for customers
- A team player
- A can-do attitude
- Looks for ways to work as part of a team effectively
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to use microsoft products- for example word, outlook and google calendar
