What you will be delivering
To provide assistance to the experts providing technical advice and high voltage testing services to AusNet Services and external customers pertaining to condition assessment and diagnostic testing of high voltage plant and insulation systems.
Duties
To assist the HV Testing Engineers in the following tasks:
- Provide on-site diagnostic and high voltage (HV) testing of electrical plants and cables utilising the following tests -
- Partial Discharge
- Dielectric Dissipation Factor measurements
- Separate Source Withstand Tests
- Induced Overvoltage Tests
- Frequency Response Analysis
- Dielectric Moisture Assessment
- Other HV Tests as required
- Assist in maintaining all OHS&E requirements for the HV Testing Services group
What we like about you Practical hands on experience already gained within same/similar industry
- You have a background in testing HV electrical assets (such as transformers, cables, switchgears, motors)
- Ability to work to complete respective duties in a semi-autonomous manner
- Ability to work in an operational environment which requires a significant degree of local decision making
- Ability to analyses and solve basic technical problems in relation to high voltage testing
- Proven ability to communicate and negotiate verbally and in writing with various managers, team members and stakeholders
- A valid and current vehicle driver’s license
- Studying towards or completed 4 year electrical or mechanical apprenticeship or an authorised HV tester from a certified test laboratory or company
- Basic computing skills
- Basic understanding of electrical assets and electrical terminology
