THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a Cable Repairer to work out of Thornton operation on a fulltime basis. Our Cables Services operations take pride in knowing that we're shaping the future of the mining industry and keeping its workers safe.

This is an opportunity suited to an experienced/qualified cable repairer.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will ensure the safety and standard of electrical cables that reach our mines throughout Australia.  You will achieve this through performing the test, repair and fit of various sized mining and industrial electrical cables in compliance with Australian Standards. Compliance is critical not only to Ampcontrol's performance, but the standards of the mining industry right across Australia.

In addition to cable repairs, you will also provide general workshop and production support as required.

Applicants with Comp B qualification will be favourably considered.

YOU'LL NEED THESE TO SUCCEED

Your willingness to gets hands on in a manufacturing/repairs environment will be complemented by the following:

• Safety as a core value
• Experience with HV electrical cable repairs – highly desirable
• Knowledge and experience in electrical manufacturing and/or repairs
• The ability to work diligently in a heavy industrial environment
• Good hand tool and attention to detail skills
• The ability to communicate effectively to colleagues and customers
• A willingness to learn and flexible approach

QUALIFICATIONS

• Formal training/qualification in the repair/manufacture/test of electrical cables/equipment - advantageous
• Possession of a forklift ticket - advantageous
• HR truck license (HR) - advantageous
