Programmed Skilled Workforce are currently seeking tradespersons for an exciting position in the rail industry as a Turner or Machinist. Our client is a global industry leader in the supply of locomotive products and maintenance services, and are looking for an additional team member to add to their growing maintenance team.

Gain the opportunity to machine locomotive and rollingstock wheel sets for refurbishment and reuse. This is an ideal position for someone who is wanting to learn new skills, re-enter or begin a career in the rail industry, and enjoy a challenging & rewarding work environment.

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Machining of rollingstock and locomotive wheel sets
• Use of Presses, lathes, Milles, Borers, both manual and CNC
• Inspecting and Reprofiling wheel sets on wheel lathe
• Forklift operation or Dogging/Rigging (dependant on licences)

To be successful for this role you will have:

• Relevant trade qualification is essential
• Advantageous tickets include: Forklift or Dogman

The suitable applicants must also have demonstrated ability in:

• Various machine operation experience (highly regarded);
• Reading and interpreting workshop drawings;
• Applying your trade qualification principals to general machining work;
