Our Austart Air Starting product is distributed and used to start diesel and gas engines worldwide.

We are looking for a highly talented experienced individual.

Primary Purpose:

Provide programming and machining expertise in the Production Department. Program, set up and operate machinery for the manufacture of parts.

 

General Job Functions - Responsibilities:

- Develop CNC programs using MasterCAM and EdgeCAM based on engineering drawings and models.

- Operate Okuma MacTurn MultiTasking machine and Okuma CNC machining centres.

- Configure tools and ensure efficient production.

- Analyse drawings, and design data in order to select correct tools, machine speeds, and feed rates.

- Set up and operate CNC equipment.

- Monitor output and proper operation of machinery. Make mechanical and/or program adjustments to ensure - parts meet quantity and quality requirements.

- Work in both Metric and Imperial units.

- Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work.

- Read Instrumentation and gauges to accurately measure dimensions on parts that are being machined within a 0.01 mm / 0.0001" tolerance.

- Communicate recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality.

- Carry out other duties reasonable within capability as required.

 

Knowledge and Experience:

- Requires sound mechanical ability with Trade Qualifications

- Minimum of 10+ years of experience with CNC programming, and operating a CNC machine.

- Experience with Okuma Controls.

- Experience with Multitasking machines.

- Experience programming in MasterCAM or EdgeCAM.

- Must have a proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming.

- Experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines.

- Able to demonstrate good manufacturing practices and be able to select tooling and machining resources for manufacture of parts.

- Strong mathematical skills.

- Able to read instrumentation and gauges for measurement purposes.

- Able to work under own initiative.

- Flexible, courteous, friendly and positive approach.

- Discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

- Ability to work in a team environment.

- Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy.
