Security Apprentice or Tradesman’s Assistant
ORIA Systems Pty Ltd. is currently looking for a highly motivated apprentice or Tradesman’s Assistant looking to work in the electronic security and communication networks field. At ORIA Systems we take pride in our work and in providing high level customer service and quality workmanship in access control, IP High Definition CCTV, networking, intercom systems and intrusion security systems on multi-dwelling buildings, high-end homes, commercial and government buildings.
In this role, you will be required to perform all aspects of electronic security and communication network cabling installation at various locations around Canberra. Successful applicants will be trained on the job, learning quality industry skills from our highly experienced staff. There will also be opportunity to undertake external training.
Salary will be negotiable dependent on experience and a full time permanent position will be offered after a six month probation period.
To be successful, it is essential that you meet the following criteria:
- Have a current Australian drivers licence and own vehicle
- Be an Australian resident
- Have Asbestos Awareness and a valid OH&S White Card
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs, lift and carry up to 20kgs, kneel and crawl in tight spaces
- Ability to use power tools
- Be available to work full time Monday to Friday, with some overtime
- Be punctual, reliable, professional and have a high degree of integrity
- High level of organisational and time management skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret plans (we will provide training)
- Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
- Take pride in working neatly and accurately
Desirable, but not essential:
- Experience in residential and commercial security cabling installations
- Data cabling installation, termination and testing experience
