THE ROLE

SERVICE ADVISOR:

We are seeking an experienced and multi skilled Automotive Service Advisor to join our team. You must be a fully trade qualified automotive engineer, with at least 5 years’ workshop experience. European vehicle experience is highly regarded i.e. Volvo/Audi/VW/BMW Certified Diagnostic Technician.

You MUST have previous experience as an automotive technician. The role of a Service Advisor is to provide estimated cost analysis of automotive repairs and routine maintenance through effective communication with customers. You will determine the services necessary predict the time needed for completion and stay in constant communication with the customer and technician during the repair process. You will determine services needed by accessing information obtained by technicians and referencing auto manufacture's service intervals.

This role requires working with the Technicians and Operations Manager to co-ordinate resources and liaising with internal and external key contacts to ensure work is delivered on time and to a quality standard.

Key Accountabilities

• Act as a liaison between customers, managers, suppliers and contractors as required.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Communicate honestly and clearly with customers, explaining vehicle maintenance services as well as repairs.
• Maintain up to date product knowledge; scheduled maintenance records and industry news; with a high focus on Volvo Vehicles.
• Job estimation, material/part purchasing and inventory control.
• Provide customers with in-depth information about available aftermarket and OEM (original equipment manufacturer) part options.
• Ensure job records are correctly completed and documented with all parts for completion/pricing of job.
• Perform opening and closing responsibilities.

Requirements

• Hold a current Driver's License.
• At least 5 years' post-apprenticeship work experience maintaining and repairing any one or more of the following car makes: Volvo, Volkswagen, Audi, BMW or Mercedes Benz.
• Current Police Clearance or willingness to obtain.
• Possess sufficient tools and toolbox.

• Has problem solving and decision making skills - accurate diagnosis & interpretation of fault tracing procedures.
• Good communication skills - all of our technicians may be required to liaise with client from time to time.
