An opportunity exists in our Piping and Mechanical department for qualified Marine Fitters to join the team on a full time, permanent basis at our Hope Valley Road site in Naval Base.
Core duties will include:
- Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings and related equipment to specification by tack welding, brazing, cementing, bolting and threading joins.
- Attaching pipes to bulkheads, frames, structure and fixtures to specifications using brackets and clamps
- Assemble pipes, gaskets, valves and associated equipment to specification.
- Plan pipe system layout and installation
- Make templates for site determined pipes
- Inspect work to ensure workmanship and quality complies with all specifications and standards
- Install pumps and machinery
- Test and commission engineering systems.
Applicants must have:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Mechanical Marine Fitting not Boiler Making or LNG / Gas pipes
- The ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Be flexible and willing to work shifts as and when required
