Maintenance Fitter
Pope Packaging is a successful Australian owned company and market leader in the packaging industry, with operations throughout Australia and overseas. We are currently looking to employ a positive, enthusiastic, experienced and driven Day Shift Maintenance Fitter to work in the Papersacks division of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring maximum equipment availability is achieved by providing efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance in a safe manner, complying with all relevant policies, procedures and regulations.
- Stock control and ordering of spare parts.
- Other responsibilities that may come up from time to time, such as working on projects.
Criteria:
- Fitting trade qualifications
- Experienced in working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement approach and ability to support a broad variety of mechanical work.
- Fault finding and problem solving skills and experience
- Ability to work in a team environment or by yourself
- Commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Ideally have a restricted electrical licence
It is essential that applicants have a high sense of ownership for the plant and are able to apply themselves to a broad range of tasks. Applicants will also need to be available for ‘Call Outs’ and to work out of hours (including weekend and public holidays) as necessary.
